Attendance
Attendance is a high priority at Low Ash Primary School. Every child needs to come to school every day to make sure they don’t miss out on their one chance at primary education. The graphic below highlights the importance of good attendance.
Punctuality
The school places high importance on punctuality. The school day starts at 8:45am (8.30am for Nursery) and we expect children to enter school at this time. Children arriving any later than 8.55am will need to enter through the office to sign in on the Inventory screen. School finishes at 3:25pm (3.30pm for Nursery).
‘Just’ missing 5 minutes here and there can make a real difference.
Reporting Absences
If your child is unwell, please contact the school office as soon as you can but no later than 9:15am with a reason for the absence. You can either telephone the office (there is an option to leave a voicemail) or email attendance@lowash.bradford.sch.uk . If we do not know why your child is absent, we will try to contact you on all of the numbers we have. If we are unable to reach you, we will conduct a home visit.
Holidays
We do not authorise holidays during term time. Our attendance target is 96% or more and to improve pupil attendance, holidays during term time will not be authorised. If you require to take your children out of school during term time, please complete a Leave of Absence Request Form.
